  Tafarn Y Plu Food

Some of you will be aware that the sale of this inn to community benefit society Menter y Plu has been confirmed, and is now ongoing subject to contract. However the inn is at present temporarily closed.

Why not partake of one of our renowned favourites, prepared in-house? We specialise in traditional home cooked meals with more than a touch of Welsh flair, as well as more exotic fare cooked in our kitchen from our own tried and tested recipes.
Vegetarians and those on gluten-free diets are well catered for within our menu. Patrons with other allergies or food intolerances can rest assured that we will do our utmost to cater for their needs; all our meals are checked against a list of 13 EU-specified allergens.
Booking is not necessary as we do not reserve tables, save for large formal parties, having not once failed to feed our patrons.

We've once again been graded with the maximum five stars in the Food Standards Agency Wales' Food Hygiene Rating scheme.
Try one of our house speciality steaks, or our famous old fashioned home made desserts. Or why not pop in for a freshly brewed tea or coffee, supplied by Dwyfor Coffee from Nefyn?
Our beef and lamb is supplied by our butchers Bwydlyn from just up the road on the village outskirts. Our pork is sourced from Huw and Ela Roberts of Gwyniasa farm in Llithfaen, and specialist bakers Roberts of Rhostyllen supply our sumptuous and warming traditional Welsh pies.
All our cheeses are made in Wales. And please don't ask for French, English or German mustard - we make our own very distinct cider mustard on the premises to a secret recipe, which you can also buy to take home with you. We also sell jams, marmalades, chutneys and Cath's stunning chilli jelly, all lovingly made in our own kitchen - the ideal gift or souvenir.
Using as much local produce as we can source, or otherwise produce from elsewhere in Wales, we put together an ever evolving set of seasonal menus that offer something for every taste. Try us out. You won't be disappointed.
Some of you will be aware that a community benefit society is intent on taking over the inn. Rest assured that they have some very exciting plans for the future development of this inn; watch this space for further information, or have a look at their website Meantime we remain committed to providing our usual high standards of food and drink, even though our hours will of necessity be somewhat curtailed.
